Preferences

  • The Edition setting determines how Editor behaves next time it is started. Click here to find out more about the differences between the editions. All three Editions (Free, Professional and Developer) can be used in unregistered mode (i.e. no more than five screens are included in a survey, lesson or test).

  • Show files and folders will display the full path name for each screen in its titlebar. The Reopen menu will also show the full path to each file. The ability to move your mouse over the controls for linked files, such as sounds, pictures and video, in the Screen Inspector and see the full and relative path in a tooltip is unaffected by this setting.
  • Show rollovers determines whether objects highlight when you move your mouse over them. This can be useful when you need to find objects that do not always show themselves (e.g. hotspot buttons in layout mode).
  • Always Show Drag Targets displays all drag targets all of the time. You cannot select these targets without first selecting the drag. Targets for unselected drags are shown in grey.
  • Windows opens Screen Lists using SimpleSet will, if selected, open Screen Lists using SimpleSet rather than Editor when they are double-clicked on the desktop. This option can also be set from SimpleSet preferences. It will only have an affect if you are logged on with Administrator privileges.
