Question Tools NetHosting includes a backup service, because regardless of the quality of the server and software, the possibility of fire, gas explosions or other accidents cannot be ignored. In the event of disaster Question Tools can quickly restore the services lost, with the minimum loss of data.

The standard backup service will restore data and get services back up and running in the unlikely event of disaster, but what if you need to look back to a test an individual took two, three or even five years ago? Retrieving data for a specific date from most backup systems is not an easy task. Fortunately, Question Tools Snapshot Archiving Service is an ideal means of efficiently and easily keeping data. This is how it works:

1. We take a copy of all of the data and place it on CD-ROM or DVD. We can do this as a one-off service, or at regular intervals.
2. We post you a copy (via Registered Post if need be), and if you wish will also retain a duplicate.
3. All you have to do to step back in time is put the CD-ROM or DVD in your computer, it will autorun and create the whole web-based, interactive site on your computer, and you can look through any results you wish.

The beauty of this approach is that it does not matter if the service has expired and the serial number no longer valid — you will still have access to all of your data. Question Tools licences let you get to your data whenever you wish, as once expired they only prevent new records/data being saved.

Cost

The cost of this service depends upon the amount of data involved, and your particular requirements regarding copies, frequency of archives, amount of data. However, here are some illustrative costs:

• One-off snapshot, single CD-ROM via standard post £ 225
• Recurring, monthly snapshot, two duplicate CD-ROMs, with one posted via registered post and the other retained. £ 2,200 per annum
• Duplicating and providing a stored CD-ROM via registered post (i.e. a CD we have retained on your behalf, but that you now wish to receive) £ 75
